However, this wouldn't be a good idea since it is most likely that your application has not reached the processing desk yet (considering the tons of documents going through it), so people at the embassy won't really give you any information about it.
The best time to start following on your application is after four weeks. By now, it's most likely that your application has been already obtained for processing, so there will be up-dates. When following up, you should already have your Transaction Identification Number (TIN) at hand. This one is usually given to you after the embassy has obtained your application, so be sure that you write it down, as it would be used in locating your documents. In case you forgot your TIN; you can provide your full name and additional information in order to get information.
