Marketo Launchpoint vs. other Marketing Automation Tools
25/09/2015 14:15
Marketing automation software has the power to revolutionize the way business work, but before picking one, it is very important to analyze the features, integration capabilities and ecosystem of all the major players in the industry. Comparing the market places of all the leading software is the most effective way to gauge these three parameters.
In this post, we provide you a quick snapshot of the big player’s market places in comparison to Marketo Launchpoint.
Marketo Launchpoint
With its debut in November 2012, Marketo Launchpoint is just one year old but it has grown to become quite popular among business people. It has about 200 application partners and 30+ solution partners. However, in terms of actual integrations, Marketo only lists 12 ‘Marketo Integrated’ products.
Marketo provides a developer program (developer.marketo.com) and an open API to support LaunchPoint clients. Marketo also offers an application on-boarding process to help users quickly maximize their services. With all this, expect Marketo Launchpoint to grow at a faster rate.
ExactTarget’s HubExchange
HubExchange was launched in July 2013, so this software is also a new entrant in the market. It offers less apps compared to Marketo Launchpoint, with 79 listed. However, a lot of them are actually completely integrated with ExactTarget marketing cloud.
HubExchange is not part of ExactTarget's partner group, the Orange Partner Network. Again, ExactTarget lags behind Marketo Launchpoint in solution partners as well with just 9 listed. On the other hand, ExactTarget has over 99 channel partners listed.
ExactTarget lacks a dedicated developer web-site. However, it gives you an open API and API documentation. With ExactTarget’s acquisition by Salesforce.com, it'll be interesting to see whether ExactTarget can take advantage of Salesforce’s massive App Exchange.
Hubspot’s Marketplace
Launched in July 2011, Marketplace is two years old. Unlike Marketo Launchpoint, Marketplace comes with robust third party templates that you could use instantly. Also, it has over 240 service partners.
Just like other major players, Hubspot’s Marketplace also uses an open API and also has a website that is dedicated only to developers. But interestingly, it really lacks in third party applications. The reason is, Hubspot does not promote API-only integrations but it recommends Marquee to their customers as a high value and quality integration.
Eloqua’s Appcloud
Launched in July 2011, Eloqua’s Appcloud is two years old. You will find more than 100 apps as part of the Eloqua Appcloud and this number is little higher than that of Marketo Launchpoint.
But after January 1st, 2014, developers must become a member of Oracle Partner Network if they want to build apps. So expect to see a significant drop of newly created apps in their marketplace.
Eloqua has got a dedicated developer website in their Topliners community. Eloqua lacks a big partner list (just 35) and its listing isn't really a part of the Appcloud.
Pardot App Center
The total number of applications listed in Pardot's App center is much lesser than displayed on Launchpoint - only 30+ applications listed. On top of that, App Center doesn't come with a dedicated marketplace web-site.
Pardot offer an API console along with a dedicated website for developers. Pardot's 35+ service partners is not a big number and actually they are listed in two categories - Agency partners and Technology partners.
As a whole, the unique capabilities and features of Marketo Launchpoint help it become as a main trump against all of its major competitors. Only Hubexchange comes close to the Marketo Launchpoint standard. All of this uncovers the effectiveness of Marketo's ecosystem, integration and partnerships.
